Performing Arts Educator

Boston, MA

Diana's mission as a classroom educator is to foster confidence, independence and intrinsic enthusiasm for student performances through a rich and student-centered delivery of classroom-integrated curriculum. She is dedicated to helping students gain comfort with performing, and aims to aid students in developing a deep love for the arts while simultaneously learning to diminish anxieties and strengthen independence through practice of self-preparation skills.

Diana has served as the full-time Elementary Performing Arts Teacher at Kingsley Montessori School in Back Bay, Boston, MA since January, 2013. She has found that students learn best when they feel safe learning through mistakes, and can guide one another through practiced, constructive peer review and critique.

Diana is an active singer in the area, serving as a current committee member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus at Boston Symphony Orchestra. Prior to working at Kingsley, she gained much experience teaching music as both an interim substitute and part-time instructor, including: public school bands and choirs of all levels, general music courses K-12, lesson/curriculum planning, special education general music and performing ensembles (chime choir), directing beginner and advanced church handbell choirs and vocal ensembles, as well as preparing both soloists and ensembles for festival competitions.
